Diamond & Sapphire Opening Diamond Medallion Pendant / Yellow Gold Belle Epoque Sentimental Jewelry

A very refined Belle Epoque period opening pendant from the early 20th century in 750/°° yellow gold (18 kt, Charençon hallmark).

Its square shape mounted in a diamond pattern makes it a unique piece. The locket is soberly adorned with an old-cut diamond and a sapphire, each suspended by a fine engraved line. Their arrangement evokes the so-called "negligee" necklaces of the period. The back has been left smooth and polished (the color differences in the photos are due to reflections).

The locket opens to reveal two separate compartments. This locket belongs to the category of sentimental jewelry, which allows you to carry a souvenir, a photo, close to your heart. Here, it is adorned with a small blue fabric, probably from the period, which is removable.
