Plate with an owl motif on stylized foliage in polychrome enameled earthenware, numbered 67/100 in Sant Vicens after a drawing by Jean Lurçat.

Mainly known for his tapestry work, Jean Lurçat nevertheless expressed himself with talent in very diverse fields such as painting, drawing, watercolor, ceramics. Influenced by many movements, Lurçat is essentially a symbolist. We find in his works recurring symbols such as the rooster, heralding the dawn or the sun, symbol of life, the owl represents wisdom and knowledge.
