Chandelier or ceiling light in gilded bronze, decorated with elements with a strong classicist influence (garlands of leaves, Greek palms, plant elements, volutes, etc.) and transparent glass beads of various shapes (faceted chains, others in the shape of a drop of water, etc.) Compositionally, it follows models common to several European schools of the 19th century, these decorative elements being what could link it to the French school. The Empire style is a dominant (but not exclusive) current of neoclassicism, which appeared mainly during the First French Empire and is characterized by the influence of ancient models, but with a different extravagance than the 18th century, and recalling the Louis XIV style in some details. -
