"Neo-archaic Style Sculptural Ceramic Vase, Rare Vintage Piece"
This monumental and expressive double-cone ceramic object is a striking example of the Neo-Archaic style, which echoes the ceramics of the Tripolian culture—one of the oldest civilizations in Europe. Created between 1966 and 1967 at the Lviv Experimental Ceramic and Sculpture Factory (LEKSF), Ukraine. Its fluid symmetry, curved walls, stylized leafy motifs, and “solar” spirals evoke the aura of an ancient ritual artifact, while revealing a refined synthesis of archaic symbolism and modernist aesthetics. This piece embodies a dialogue between folk decorative art and the modernist stylization characteristic of mid-20th-century Ukrainian applied art. The natural color palette—warm ochre, deep brown, and bold black strokes—emphasizes the connection to the earth and traditional craft techniques. From the workshop of the Lviv Artistic Ceramic Manufactory, this object was presented at the exhibition "From Trypillia to Modernity" in 1967, as evidenced by an archive photograph taken from the catalog. Due to its sculptural character, this object can be presented as a work of art. Clay, hand painting, glaze
