17th Imposing Gilt Wood Italian Reliquary With Six Relics

Imposing reliquary in richly carved wood, decorated with cherub heads, gilded and silvered, Italian workshop of the 17th century. Magnificent original gilding with very well preserved leaf. Original oxidized silvering.
Inside are five bone fragments, some of which still bear the cartouche with the saint's name. A sixth relic, a small bone fragment on cloth, is inserted into the base.
