Object description :

"Three Antique And Gilded Three-flame Candlesticks Late 1700s"
Three Antique And Gilded Three-Flame Candlesticks Of The Late 1700s in carved poplar wood. An octagonal base supports a large fluted vase with a bacellate rim and a large central festoon. Floral and leaf decorations enrich the installation laterally, which culminates in three candle arms. Being designed for altar decoration they are carved and gilded only on the front, the back is finished with yellow Siena earth. In excellent condition with beautiful gilding in fine gouache gold, apart from the minor shortcomings documented in the image gallery, they are ideal for use in interior lighting. Northern Italy, second half of the 1700s.
