"Bronze By Joan Mora (1944 - 2017)"
Rare bronze from Joan Mora's mature period, where the Catalan artist explored refined and symbolic geometric forms. The work evokes both a frozen body, an architecture in motion, or a structured package, typical of Mora's approach to transfiguring simple objects into enigmatic and timeless sculptures. Some small scratches consistent with its age. Otherwise, very good condition. A nameplate was supposed to mention the name of the work but is no longer present on the base. Bronze signed Joan Mora 84 intaglio on the terrace. Stamp of the Ginfer foundry located in Reus. Height: 30 cm Length: 17.5 cm Joan Mora is a major figure in contemporary Catalan sculpture. Trained at the Llotja School in Barcelona and then at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, he is best known for his marble and bronze sculpture-objects. His work was exhibited at the Joan Miró Foundation in 1978.
