"Pair Of Louis XVI Period Armchairs, Aubusson Tapestry Medallion Backs, Cabriolets "
Pair of Louis XVI period, 18th century, waxed and patinated beech cabriolet armchairs. Our seats have medallion-shaped backs, each covered with an Aubusson tapestry decorated with bouquets of flowers. The seats, as well as the armrests, are covered with a sage green velvet fabric. The woodwork is in waxed and patinated beech, harmoniously molded. The sobriety and quality of the molding work allow the tapestries of the backs to be highlighted. These cabriolets are in very good general condition. The upholstery is not recent but is very good. Very comfortable seat. We note tiny little foxing on the velvet of the seats as well as some wear on the tapestries (small fraying due to the age of the tapestry - see photo 12)
