“bridge” Bookcase In Solid Walnut – Veneto, Early 19th Century
Important Venetian bookcase from the early decades of the 19th century, entirely made of solid walnut. The structure, solid and well-proportioned, stands out for its unusual “bridge” configuration, with an elegant central arch framed by two glazed side sections.
The architecture of the piece, harmonious and balanced, is enhanced by clean neoclassical lines and refined construction details, visible both in the woodwork and the compartment layout. The two lateral glass doors, equipped with internal shelves, rest on lower sections with panelled doors and drawers. The central section, lower in height, creates a decorative niche topped by a framed arch and smooth back panel — ideal for display or ornamentation.
The warm patina of the walnut, with its natural grain, adds to the charm and understated elegance of the piece.
