" Antique-inspired Bronze Vase - Barbedienne Cast - 19th Century"
Superb bronze vase with medal patina, decorated with a rich high-relief decoration depicting a ritual scene of ancient inspiration. Female figures draped in the Greek style and crowned with vine branches, stand around a smoking altar in a composition evoking the Dionysian mysteries. The body rests on a molded pedestal with gadrooned decoration, mounted on a red griotte marble base. Beautiful quality of chiseling with precision in the draperies, attitudes and expression. Good condition, slight chips to the marble. Dimensions: Height 58 cm Width 25 cm Depth 20 cm
