"Large Sculpture Stand With Putti From The Early 20th Century "
Superb and large plaster sculpture from the early 20th century. It represents two naked children, Putti type (cherubs or classic child figurines) back to back, entwined in a graceful and dynamic posture. This plaster work is painted and patinated to imitate bronze with a texture aged by time. The circular base and the column they partly support evoke the function of a stand or decorative support probably originally intended to carry a basin or a lamp or another decorative element. The whole is in classical style with a neo-baroque inspiration, the anatomical details are soft, the shapes round and expressive. The two figures are finely sculpted notably in the hair and the expression of the faces. Note a slight wear and small chips due to time. Decorative work of quality and in good condition.
