Designer Table Lamp In Black Lacquered Metal – Italy Circa 1970 – Attributed To Gae Aulenti

Rare vintage table lamp in matte black lacquered metal, with a resolutely sculptural design, attributed to the great Italian architect and designer Gae Aulenti. Produced around 1970, this piece evokes the experimental aesthetic of the Space Age style and the formal rigor of Italian modernism. It consists of two adjustable hemispherical shells mounted on a central tubular axis, allowing the diffusion of light to be modulated in a spectacular way. Its domed base ensures visual balance and a remarkable architectural presence. Although unsigned, this lamp has marked stylistic similarities with Gae Aulenti's creations for FontanaArte and Stilnovo. Fully electrically overhauled, it is in excellent used condition with a beautiful, even patina.
