"Accolay - Anthropomorphic Flower Vase From The 60s - Height 34.5 Cm. "
ACCOLAYAnthropomorphic flower vase in glazed ceramic depicting a female character, signed "Accolay - FDM - 14" under the base. Very good general condition, very small chips on the front right foot. 1960s. Dimensions: 34.5 x 11 x 14 cm. Notes: The term Poterie d'Accolay refers to the production of a community of potters established in the village of Accolay, in the Yonne department. This production center was created by four former students of Alexandre Kostanda, led by André Boutaud, followed by Louis Dangon, Slavic Paley and Raude. Later, the decorators Raphaël Giarrusso, Georges Pelletier and the sculptor Pierre Merlier each marked this period with their artistic personality. The ceramics are of great artistic research both in the decorations (all original) and in the forms: pots, wall plates, lamps, masks. The success was such that in the years 1958-1960 the ceramics employed around sixty people and opened several showrooms on major roads: on the RN6 in Vermenton, Arcy sur Cure and Appoigny, on the RN7 in Pouilly sur Loire, on the road from Dijon to Fixin.
