Earthenware painting of a market in Anduze signed Roland François Zobel (1915-2006) studied at the Beaux-Arts school in Bourges, then specialized in ceramics at the international school in Faenza (Italy). He then founded his own workshop in Anduze, Les Cyclades, where he produced most of his ceramics.
He settled in the Gard region, in the village of Générargues, between Alès and Anduze. The location is significant, as the city ofAnduze was an important center for pottery production (tableware, tiles, pipes, fountains, oil jars, etc.).
