JAPAN - Edo period (1603-1868). KABUTO composed of 32 wrought iron slats. THEHEN NO ANA (opening at the top) in gilded copper with five levels, the first level chiseled with leafy scrolls. SHIKORO (neck cover) with four levels in glossy black lacquered iron and blue and orange silk braid. FUKIGAESHI (small fins) in glossy black lacquered iron covered in stamped deerskin and decorated with orange silk. MABI SA SHI (visor) in wrought iron covered in stamped deerskin. Dimensions: 41 x 35 x 32 cm. Sold with the base. Dimensions with the base: 51 x 35 x 32 cm.
