"Rare Small Renaissance Cabinet In Solid Walnut – Part 2 Of The 19th Century"
Narrow two-part cabinet in solid walnut richly carved with hunting scenes, opening with a highly molded drawer and fitted with a bronze drop handle depicting a smiling grotesque mask. The upper part of this cabinet has a framed door opening with a chiseled key with a carved openwork entry and a working lock. In the center of the door, a carved panel depicts a man galloping on his horse surrounded by a wild boar chased by dogs. In the background, we see a castle located on a hill. The reliefs are significant and bring the scene to life. On either side of the door, slender detached fluted columns are accompanied by carved supports. The lower part of the cabinet has a similarly dark-framed door with a carved relief panel. It is surrounded by a fluted column on each side. Large moldings are supported by wafer feet at the front. Inside each element, this piece of furniture has an adjustable shelf on racks. This piece of furniture can be dismantled into two parts. *********Period: 2nd half of the 19th centuryPerfect condition after restoration in our workshop.
