Very bright Anatolian kilim from the Antalya region. Woven wool on wool in the traditional way. What is very special about this piece and jumps out at you is the asymmetrical aspect of the composition. I find a kind of creative madness or at least a certain originality. The weaver seems to play subtly, she surprises us with finesse by creating a totally unexpected border that comes out of the rather geometric creation and in the repetition. A treat!
