"Tülü Bergama - Anatolia. Late 19th Century. 215 X 160 Cm"
Rare and in an optimal state of preservation, magnificent Tülü originating from Bergama in Turkey. In Turkish "tül" means strand, strand of wool in this case. This type of piece is rather rare. On one side, we observe a surface with long flamboyant strands of wool incorporated into the weft threads. On the other, we find a flat-weave kilim. The colors are 100% vegetable in tones of indigo blue and madder red. Also note the presence of knotted horizontal bands. Mixed technique. Wool on wool. Circa 1880. Very good condition.
