Circa 1850
Fireplace in terracotta tiles covered with opaque white enamel.
Romantic period
Origin: Lorraine, probably Lunéville or Saint Clément
The tiles have not suffered.
No cracks or fissures that would indicate disintegration of the terracotta.
Twisted columns at the left and right corners
Upper frieze of the lintel with a scroll motif framing a cartouche.
The 2 decorative black marble cabochons obscuring the 2 open circles on either side of the cartouche
were forgotten when the photo was taken. They are available - Photo to be taken again.
The fireplace has retained the structure of its iron hearth.
Adaptation to the smoke evacuation duct and the recomposition of the entire hearth is thus easy during reinstallation.
