An 18th-century Russian travel triptych, tempera on wood. This icon is composed of three hinged panels. The central panel depicts the Resurrection of Christ, divided into two scenes: the Descent into Hell in the lower section and the Resurrection from the Tomb in the upper section. In the Orthodox liturgical calendar, the feast of the Resurrection is the most important. The side panels depict scenes from the feasts of the liturgical year.
