Object description :

" André Sornay : Rare Extension Table, France Circa 1930"
Large dining table designed by André Sornay, produced circa 1930. This emblematic piece perfectly illustrates the formal language developed by Sornay in the early 1930s: geometric rigor softened by understated elegance. The four slightly splayed legs are sheathed and accented with aluminum tubes, a technical detail characteristic of his work. The rectangular tabletop in cherry tree veneer includes two 50 cm extensions, offering valuable modularity for both everyday use and formal entertaining. A fine example of modernist furniture from Lyon, combining structural ingenuity with formal restraint. The entire piece has been professionally refinished by our partner cabinetmaker. Manufacturer: Meubles Sornay, circa 1930.
