"Multi-bladed Scarificator"
Unsigned, Mid-18th century, copper alloy, iron. Square scarifier with 13 blades. Instrument used, between the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 1900s, to cut the skin before applying a vaccine or to apply suction cups called "scarified" (small bloodletting). Large model, the rear cover has a foliage decoration, a wrought iron key allows the blades to be adjusted, an upper latch allows the blades to come out while a side button allows them to be retracted.
Very beautiful and rare example, in working order.
