Merio Ameglio is a painter, engraver, lithographer and illustrator born in Italy in 1897. He is a Montmartre painter who is part of the School of Paris. He is mainly known for his scenes of urban life, his seascapes and his landscapes. Merio Ameglio was born in San Remo but spent his entire childhood in the south of France, passionate about painting from a young age, he observed the artists working on the Riviera and trained by watching them work. He decided to go and perfect his skills in Paris, and returned to the capital painting the landscapes he crossed. In Paris, he settled in Montmartre and built a reputation painting street scenes and urban landscapes. He exhibited for the first time at the Salon in 1938. After the war, he continued to live in Montmartre and exhibited regularly in Parisian galleries and in the south of France in Cannes, Nice, and Menton.
