"Bronze Inkwell Signed Barbedienne, Neoclassical Style, Circa 1870"
Elegant chiseled bronze inkwell by Barbedienne, a 19th-century Parisian foundryman, dated circa 1870. The neoclassical style, inspired by Antiquity, is reflected in the feet decorated with feline heads, the twisted handle, the lid topped with a helmeted bust, and the stylized plant motifs. Beautiful uniform patina, in excellent overall condition. Only the small interior ceramic bowl is missing. Dimensions: 18 × 17 cm.
