Object description :

"Lyre Clock"
Rare pendulum clock from the Restoration period, therefore from the early 19th century and of French origin, made of finely chiseled and fire-gilded bronze.
The richly decorated lyre structure features tritons, palmettes and elegant swans.
Rectangular base worn at the corners by dolphins, in relief modelling with chiseled water leaves of the heel; surmounted by a large lyre whose base is formed by a large base of acanthus leaves, and the body by two swans resting on the wings widen vertically, framing with their body the movement, whose chiseled gilded cadtan bears the hours engraved on the silver balls surrounded by a chiseled laurel wreath; the center bas-relief Neptune on a dolphin and holding a lyre, knurled bezel with glass. Between the wings and the swans stand the nuclei of the lyre surmounted by a palmette.
