Wounded during the First World War, he was discharged. In 1929, he became a drawing teacher in Rochefort at the Lycée Pierre Loti, then was appointed to the Lycée d'Amiens, then to the Lycée Carnot in Paris. He exhibited in Paris, at the Salons des Indépendants and d'Automne of which he became a member. His favorite places of creation and inspiration were La Vendée, Loire Atlantique, L'Yonne...
