"Small Louis XV Style Scriban In Marquetry And Gilt Bronze"
Small Louis XV style scriban in marquetry and gilt bronze. Charming little secretary looking like a discreet commode sauteuse. It stands on four curved legs terminating in a gilded bronze sabot. All the ornamentation is in gilded, chased and openwork bronze.
The well-executed marquetry is decorated with lattice work on the two front drawers and both sides.
Once open, the mahogany inlaid interior reveals four small drawers and a central storage area.
The Breche marble top is in perfect condition. Three dominant colors: brown, beige and violet, probably Vendôme Breche marble. This piece of furniture bears a trademark that was located in Saint-Etienne in the Loire region.
19th century.
