"Sunset on the pond of Villeneuve les Maguelone in autumn"
Oil on cardboard,
Signed lower left (partly hidden by its frame),
Countersigned, dated and titled "Maguelone before its mutilation by the barbarians in 1942 (autumn) H. Bésiné",
Beautiful, bright and finely detailed work by the Montpellier painter Henri Bésiné which represents a sunset on the pond of Villeneuve les Maguelone, in autumn.
In the background to the right of the Maguelone peninsula, we can distinguish the Maguelone gate called "the little Arc de triomphe".
With his small touches, the artist has perfectly transcribed the vegetation at the edge of the pond and the play of light.
Dimensions: 33 x 55 cm without frame and 45 x 67 cm with its modern gilded wood frame.
