Le Chat Noir is a famous Montmartre cabaret founded in 1881 by Rodolphe Salis and which disappeared in 1897. It owes its name to a lost black cat that Sakis found on the sidewalk during construction. This cabaret was one of the meeting places of the Parisian elite. Salis had the idea of installing a piano in his cabaret so that the cabaret song was truly born at Le Chat Noir.
