Minuscula: Portrait Of A Child On Parchment, Circa 1690, Marquis Of Montpellier
Wonderful miniature of a child, painted on parchment or vellum circa 1690, former miniature of a family jewel, preciously reframed circa1820 by the Parisian workshop Moullyot.
This pretty toddler, later became this handsome Henri-François, Marquis of Grave and Solas,
Henri-François de Grave: Born in 1685, (son of famous Diane de Solas), Lord of Saint-Martin-entre-Deux-Eaux and Montpellier, Baron of Lattes, Marquis of Solas, ensign of King's gendarmes in the company of Flanders, knight of Saint-Louis.

According to my research, a very small miniature of Diane de Solas, (same jewel?) named, same frame and maker, was sold at Giquello's, September 30, 2024, n°480.
Black frame bears the engraved inscription: Henri de Grave
Frame: 8cm x 7cm, mini-miniature: 3cm x 2.5cm.
