"4 18th Century Fashion Plates - Katharina Heckel Sperling"
Set of 4 engravings enhanced with watercolor, each of the engravings presents a "worker's wife at church in summer", a "worker's daughter going to the wedding", a "worker's wife going to church in summer", a "worker's daughter going to church in summer", German fashion of the early 18th century. Each of the presentations is first given in German (see photos). According to my research these engravings are to be attributed to Catharina Sperling Heckel (1699-1741). She learned painting and drawing from her father Michael Heckel, then married the engraver Hieronymus Sperling (1695-1777) in 1725. Each of the engravings measures 10, x 6, they are presented in a wooden frame (8 x 12.5), under old glass, some with bubbles or even imperfections. My engravings are presented as discovered.
