A beautiful combination of straight lines and massive shapes, with small details such as two eyes. Made of heavy chamotte clay, a unique piece. 1970s, signed by Paul De Bruyne (Belgium 1936-2007).
A graduate of the Institut Supérieur Saint-Luc in Ghent, he taught at the Royal Academy and the Institut Saint-Luc in Oudenaarde, as well as at the Collège Sainte-Barbara in Ghent. De Bruyne created a body of work in which he also considered ceramics as an element of architecture and interior design. This led him to create works of art, utensils, ornaments, and ceramic sculptures and bas-reliefs, integrated into architecture. Almost all of his works are inspired by humanity and society of the 1960s and 1970s.
