Portrait Of William Hogarth (1697-1764), 18th Century English School
Portrait of William Hogarth (1697-1764), 18th century English school, probably a self-portrait Large 18th-century English school portrait of the painter and satirist William Hogarth, oil on canvas. Hogarth, bust-length, is set in a feigned oval and wearing a turban, typical of the Regency period. The work is technically consistent with Hogarth's, but further research would identify the painter. Presented in an antique gilt frame bearing the artist's name on the plaque. Professionally re-framed around 1950. Clean and stable surface.
