Very Large Dish Decorated With A Phoenix And Peonies - China Early 17th Century Ming Dynasty

Very important deep dish with a central decoration of a phoenix and peonies. The border is richly decorated with six floral cartouches on a background of checkered patterns.

Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), Early 17th century.

Numerous cracks, common on ceramics from these kilns, some deeper than others, and some having caused roughness in the paste. Four chips on the edge, some more significant than others.
