Epergne, sterling silver centrepiece (925/1000 fine), featuring a tall central vase supporting three pierced baskets suspended around it. The baskets were designed to hold flowers, candied fruits or sweets. The entire piece is finely crafted.
Each component bears the following hallmarks:
Lion passant: indicating sterling silver standard,
Anchor: mark of the Birmingham Assay Office,
Uppercase letter "O": corresponding to the year 1938,
Maker’s mark "O.E.T.": silversmith active in Birmingham, currently unidentified. T
Total weight: approx. 1300 grams It should be noted that the total weight includes components that are not made of sterling silver: the interior of the vase likely contains a non-precious metal weight added to provide stability.
Condition: Very good overall, with minor wear
