The misadventures of a pigeon whose nest falls from the tree caught in a gust of wind. At the foot of the tree, he comes face to face with a pig who, despite his warnings, eats the chicks. The second fable gives a revisited version of La Fontaine's fable, The Cicada and the Ant, and finally the third fable tells the misadventures of a fish, who is swallowed by a heron while desperately hoping to open an oyster at the bottom of the pond. Benjamin Rabier is considered one of the major animal designers of the 20th century. He is and remains famous for the creation of the logo for "The Laughing Cow" cheese, and for his emblematic character of Gideon the Duck. The two great figures of comics, Walt Disney and Hergé, were inspired by his universe.
