Wedding fan from the Transition period, early Louis XVI (circa 1775), the leaf painted in gouache on a very finely woven canvas with gallant scenes on three medallions. The central medallion presents a gallant scene, very common during the reigns of Louis XV and Louis XVI. In a park, a young man kneels at the feet of an elegant young woman, in the Marie-Antoinette style, under the attentive gaze of another woman and a young boy. On each side, two symbols: fidelity and docility. The mother-of-pearl frame, chased and pierced with gold and silver leaf applications, and the pivot of the fan is decorated with 2 rhinestones or brilliants. Louis XVI giltwood frame. (light wear)
