Biscuit Porcelain Sculpture, Austrian Art Nouveau
Charming biscuit porcelain sculpture depicting a young boy seated in his bed, portrayed with great naturalness and tenderness, as if he had just awakened. With a large pillow placed on his right side and a delicately draped blanket on his left, the child is captured in a particularly endearing and intimate scene.
The composition rests on an elegant finely chased Louis XVI style gilt-bronze mount, which beautifully enhances the purity and delicate modelling of the biscuit porcelain.
This Austrian Art Nouveau work, dating from circa 1900, stands out for the quality of its sculptural modelling and the lively expression of the child's face. The underside of the biscuit bears the "Ges. Geschützt" mark, a registered protection mark commonly found on Austrian productions of the period.
A refined decorative object of excellent quality, ideal for collectors of biscuit porcelain, Art Nouveau objects, or cabinet bronzes.
