"Pair Of Stoneware Vases By Jacques Laroussinie - Atelier De La Borde - Late 90s "
Superb pair of tubular stoneware vases created by Jacques Laroussinie in the workshop of La Borde (Village du Berry) in the late 1990s. Stoneware composed of sand, ochre and ash, pattern of dots and vertical bands. Wood firing reveals various sparkles and shards of the material. Jacques Laroussinie plays with the breaks in balance, overcoming the constraints mastered by architects. Contemporary and very decorative ceramics Jacques Laroussinie was born in 1945 in St-Chéron (78). From 1969 to 1972, he attended the ceramics workshop of the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Bourges, following the courses of Jean and Jacqueline Lerat. At the end of his training, he settled with his wife Joelle Deroubaix in a family home in Eure et Loir and built his first wood-fired kiln. Thus, the dream settles freely. His imagination, inspired by pagodas and huts seen during his travels, re-models them into rickety, gangly constructions. Skidding and imperfection distill so much warm life.
