Elegant pair of bedside tables from the Vicenza area, made in the very early 19th century, during the Directoire period.
The design is clean and linear, without protruding mouldings, giving the pieces a strict and geometric appearance—fully in line with the tradition of early 19th-century Venetian cabinetmaking. The block-like structure, with square-section straight legs, reflects a simple, slightly rustic yet refined style.
Crafted entirely from solid walnut, each table features two stacked drawers with oval brass handles. A fine decorative detail is the geometric inlay running vertically along the front corners, highlighting the 90° edge with subtle elegance.
The overall condition is excellent: the pieces are intact and ready to use, needing perhaps just a light waxing to enhance their beauty.
