Large limestone basin with many fossils and forming a cooler.
This oval basin is spectacular and of very good quality.
Dating from the first half of the 18th century, it is superb in proportion and very nicely molded.
The movement of the body with large moldings, the flared pedestal and the upper edge in the shape of a corbin beak, as well as the interior hollowed out with a tool, allow us to date it.
The presence of grayish fossilized shells in the cream-colored limestone is very beautiful and the fossils are slightly raised on the surface being harder than limestone.
It is a cooler that can hold several bottles, it was pierced in the 19th century to probably serve as a planter and then restored later as originally to give it back its original function.
The oval shape is very beautiful and very well proportioned.
A very beautiful cooler that changes from the models in marble, which however are also rare. Some chips on the edge of the base, otherwise excellent general condition.
A rare and very decorative piece that can be used.
