Polychrome porcelain crested cockatoo – Germany, late 19th / early 20th century

Polychrom porcelain statuette depicting a crested cockatoo perched on a stylized trunk decorated with foliage and berries. The bird, particularly expressive, displays a rich palette of colors ranging from green to blue, through yellow, orange and red, characteristic of refined porcelain painting.
The piece is probably molded and the finishes are manual, in particular the painted decoration.
This type of piece is part of the tradition of German porcelain manufacturers such as Meissen, Volkstedt or Rudolstadt, which, at the end of the 19th century, produced very detailed animal sculptures, often intended for the decoration of bourgeois apartments where they were presented in special furniture or on small gilded wood wall consoles.
The colorful plumage and the trunk with naturalistic details also evoke the creations of the Dresden schools.
The porcelain is unmarked but could have a mark under the glaze or have been initially sold with a label.

Very good general condition
