"Louis XVI Period Cabriolet Bergère Armchair, Jean Simon Stamp"
Lovely Louis XVI period cabriolet bergère armchair, in light lacquered beech, stamped Jean Simon, cabinetmaker received as a master in Paris on July 24, 1787. This armchair is distinguished by its cabriolet back, its recessed armrests with sculpted cuffs, and its fluted tapered legs, typical of the Louis XVI style. The whole is enhanced by an original or antique lacquer, charmingly patinated by time. It is upholstered with a striped and floral pattern on a pale yellow background, with classic elegance, accompanied by its matching rectangular cushion, emphasizing the comfort and balance of its proportions. An authentic and rare piece, this bergère illustrates the Parisian refinement of the end of the Ancien Régime and will find its place both in a classic interior and in a more contemporary decoration in search of exceptional pieces.
