- Portfolio with minimal traces of use, one sheet dusty in a few marginal areas, otherwise in perfect condition

- Curdled Imagination -

Rainer Ehrt's portfolio revives the tradition of large-format illustrations by artists such as Lovis Corinth and Max Slevogt. Each sheet looks like a work in its own right, thanks to the different colors alone. Ehrt's wildly virtuoso yet pointed style opens up an imaginative space that allows E. T. A. Hoffmann's nightmarish narrative to be understood and re-explored through imagery.   About the artist After beginning his design studies, Rainer Ehrt gained a year of work experience at printing companies in Halle and Leipzig. From 1983 to 1988, he studied at the Burg Giebichenstein Art Academy in Halle. Since then, he has worked as an illustrator, cartoonist, and freelance graphic designer. In 1993, he founded Edition Ehrt in Kleinmachnow, which specializes in original graphic and bibliophile artist books. His cartoons have been published in major German daily and weekly newspapers, such as Frankfurter Allgemeine, Süddeutsche Zeitung, and Die Zeit, and have often appeared in Eulenspiegel. Ehrt has received numerous awards for his work, most recently the Art Prize of the City of Wernigerode in 2020.
