Orivit Art Nouveau Metal CupGilt and silver plated metal cup with glass interior. Period: ca. 1900-1905. Art Nouveau. The base is marked "orivit 2708/A". Orivit was a German company (1894-1905) that invented an alloy and named it "orivit"; it is a pewter from which the lead has been removed and a little silver added in order to make it shine like silver when polished. Visible at the Galerie Courcelles Antiquités, at 97 rue de Courcelles, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
