Virgin And Child And Saint Sebastian - Central Italian School, 18th

Moving sacred scene imbued with tenderness: the Virgin Mary, dressed in dark red and a pale veil, holds the Child Jesus on her knees, both surrounded by a young Saint John the Baptist himself emraced by the Most Holy Mother.

Marie's sweet gaze, leaning towards her child, expresses great maternal tranquility and happiness. The rounded faces, the luminous complexions and the bucolic composition in the background finish giving the work all its infinite softness.

The work is presented in a richly carved wooden frame and decorated with 19th century relief plant motifs.
