"Painted Cardboard Telescope, 18th Century."
Three-part telescope in good condition, complete with its lenses, and decorated with a decoration of flowers and foliage on a hand-painted blue background. A worn varnish protected this decoration. The rings are made of horn (small gaps in places, inevitable for this material, the rest is made of rigid cardboard. Unfolded, it measures 63cm. It is attributed to Venice but difficult to certify it…. The know-how of this kind of object is admirable, offering a popularization of scientific progress within everyone's reach.
