Art Nouveau Cane With A “suitcase” Folding System, Silver Ball Knob
Fine and elegant dandy cane from the Art Nouveau period, known as a "suitcase cane". Indeed, it can fold in two; a similar system in three parts is presented in Catherine Dike's reference book "System canes, a fabulous and unknown world", illustration 18/37. Silver ball knob. Very thin but solid exotic wood shaft finished with a metal ferrule. The entire cane measures 36,02 inches. Circa 1900.
