A series of 12 aquatints by Luigi Mayer depicting scenes from Ancient Egypt. The choice of this engraving process, one of the most complicated, shows the care the artist took to create this series, each work being a true small painting. Mayer was a great specialist of the Ottoman Empire. Each plate measures 22.5x32.5 cm in very pretty gilded frames, with internal dimensions of 49 x 60 cm. The works are presented in decorated passe-partouts.
