This elegant Louis-Philippe chest of drawers dates from the late 19th century. It comes from a family estate in the Loire Valley, a region renowned for its fine craftsmanship and rich historical heritage. Kept in the same family since its creation, the piece has never been restored. It has simply been carefully cleaned and hand-waxed with natural wax to preserve its beautiful original patina—warm and satiny.
The top is made of solid walnut, while the rest of the structure is veneered in burl walnut with deep, rich tones. It stands on moulded feet with classic Louis-Philippe lines. The chest features four spacious dovetailed drawers, each with its original round wooden escutcheons and fully functional locks. An antique key is included and operates all drawers.
Built using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, this chest is both sturdy and durable. Today, it can be used in a bedroom, hallway, or living room to add character and provide generous storage with timeless charm.
